When moving into a new place, it's important to consider all the costs associated with it. Apart from the rent, there are other expenses that you need to keep in mind. Here's a breakdown of what you can expect:
- Membership fee and deposit: These are one-time fees that you need to settle before moving in. The deposit will be refunded after the contract termination, if no issues arise.
- Included in your rent: Your rent covers bills, internet, and cleaning services (depending on your contract details).
- Not included in your rent:
- Germany: The TV and Radio Tax, or Rundfunkbeitrag, is mandatory by German law and costs €53 for every 3 months. This is shared by all tenants in the flat. Habyt cannot take care of the payment on behalf of tenants, but you can share the costs with your flatmates.
- Netherlands: Municipality taxes are not covered.
- Italy: Additional taxes at move-in include the Registration Tax (1% of the yearly rent) and the Duty Stamp (€32). As the Registration Tax is a yearly tax, it will be charged once a year if the contract exceeds 12 months. At move-out, there are Closing costs (€167 for old Roomie contracts, €67 for any new contract that included a Membership Fee).
- Spain: Your rent covers utilities up to limited usage. If the usage specified in the contract is exceeded, the surplus is divided among the tenants and charged directly.
